NBA Playoffs: Timberwolves Knock Off Mavericks in Game 4

Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns Lead Wolves to Victory

Minnesota Avoids Elimination with Gritty Performance

The Minnesota Timberwolves are still alive in the NBA playoffs after a hard-fought 105-100 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 4 on Sunday night. Behind a dominant performance from Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns, the Wolves avoided elimination and forced a Game 5 in Dallas on Tuesday.

Edwards finished with a game-high 28 points, shooting an efficient 11-of-19 from the field. Towns added 25 points and 10 rebounds, while D'Angelo Russell chipped in with 18 points and Jaylen Nowell contributed 14 off the bench.

The Mavericks were led by Luka Dončić's 26 points, but he shot just 9-of-23 from the floor. Spencer Dinwiddie added 20 points, but the Mavericks struggled to generate consistent offense outside of their two stars.

The Timberwolves took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Mavericks 33-21. Edwards and Towns combined for 18 points in the period, and the Wolves held Dončić to just 4 points on 2-of-7 shooting.

The Mavericks made a push in the fourth quarter, cutting the lead to 98-94 with just over two minutes remaining. But Edwards and Towns came up with big plays down the stretch to seal the win.

With the victory, the Timberwolves have forced a Game 5 in Dallas on Tuesday night. The Mavericks will need to win at home to stay alive in the series, while the Timberwolves will be looking to close it out and advance to the second round.
